Kodiak Kowboy was named Champion Male Sprinter of 2009, a year in which he won three Grade 1 races as well as Philadelphia Park's Donald LeVine Handicap. He was retired from racing in November 2009, after 11 lifetime wins, to begin a new career as a stallion at Vinery in Kentucky.
